Who are Team Ipsley?
Our school is a vibrant, happy community where we aim to develop the social, emotional, academic and spiritual potential of every pupil. Starting with a broad, rich curriculum, designed to develop the knowledge, attributes, skills and experiences which underpin successful learning, we aim to create interesting, engaged young learners who discover their passions and talents during their academic journey.
Our starting point is to build strong relationships with our pupils and their families as we believe that working together is vital for everyone to achieve their best in their relationships and learning.
Our broad, rich curriculum is designed to develop the knowledge, attributes, skills and experiences which underpin successful learning as we aim to create interesting, engaged young learners who discover their passions and talents during their academic journey. We are a reading school, passionate about getting lost in a good story – much of our learning begins with reading, whether it be travelling back in time to explore ancient civilisations, cracking codes in computing, and beyond. We believe that each child’s learning experience at Ipsley should be broader than a strong academic foundation: they should leave us ready to live life in all its fullness and to support others in doing this, too.
As a Church of England school, we support our pupils to become kind, ambitious and courageous young leaders who flourish in their time at Ipsley and continue to do so as they move on to the next stages of their education and beyond. We call our school community Team Ipsley: a place where all pupils, staff and families belong.
Ipsley is unique! This is obvious in how we organise the school: in Years 5 and 6, pupils follow a primary model, spending most of their time with their class teacher. In Years 7 and 8, pupils follow a secondary model, taught by specialists who work in collaboration with the subject teams across the Central Region Schools Trust to ensure a seamless transition to high school. Pupils results, feedback from surveys and comments from visitors tell us that in doing so we are providing the best possible balance of pastoral care and academic challenge.
Our school website contains information about the curriculum, support and enrichment available at Ipsley. However, the best way to get to know us, especially if you are deciding on whether we are the right school for your child, is always by coming to see us in action. Please do contact us to arrange a visit and both pupils and staff will be proud to show off our school.
